Back to Area Information Indian Pass Indian Pass is located southeast of Port. St. Joe on C-30 and gained its name from the use of the natural pass from the Apalachicola Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. A day spent on or around the pass can easily be compared to taking steps back in time and experiencing Florida's history at its finest. With the Cape San Blas lighthouse, one of only 30 still standing in Florida, just a few miles away from Indian Pass, the warm ambience of this historical nostalgia is certain to surround you.
With fourteen miles of beaches, Indian Pass allows sport fishermen and water enthusiasts' unique opportunities away from the crowds where the Apalachicola Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico. The Indian Pass public boat ramp is home to a ferry service to St. Vincent Island. This barrier island is a wildlife refuge for numerous species, many of which are endangered, such as sambar deer, bald eagles, wild hogs, whitetail deer and the rare red wolf.
